Day to Day
day 01
Arrive Chengdu
Upon arrival at Chengdu airport, transfer to the city which will take almost 1 hour. The team will then make their way to the Chengdu Peoples’ Park to meet a Kung Fu Master who will share his skills and a lesson in the basic movements and principals of Kung Fu. The group will transfer to Dujiangyan (1-2 hours) and check in to the hotel before enjoying a welcome banquet dinner and briefing.
day 02
Panda Base Volunteering
Travel out of the city and visit Dujiangyan Panda Valley, a centre for the breeding, wilderness training and releasing in to the wild of giant pandas. The team will help with the day to day care of the pandas, cleaning the enclosures, preparing the panda’s food, feeding the pandas, observing and recording behaviour and health.
day 03
Hiking in Qingcheng
Visit Dujiangyan irrigation system and ancient water system still in use today. In the afternoon, hike Qingcheng mountain and take a cable car to the top for impressive views (total 3 hrs).
day 04
Hiking in Yaoji
Travel by coach to Yaoji which will take approx. 6 hrs. The group will check into their Tibetan guesthouse where they will be staying for the next couple of days before setting off for a 2hr hike through Yaoji to a Tibetan Stupa.
day 05
Agricultural Work
Today the group will be helping local farmers with their agricultural work including harvesting, planting and watering vegetables. Lunch will be at the farmer’s house whilst learning about the community. In the afternoon, the group will be able to explore the surrounding community and visit a local temple. After dinner, enjoy a traditional performance by the local Tibetan villagers whilst sitting around a campfire.
day 06
Chengdu
Return back to Chengdu by coach (6hrs) in time for an afternoon of souvenir shopping in one of Chengdu’s Jinli old streets to absorb some ancient Chinese charm. In the evening, try a traditional Sichuan Hotpot for dinner - a bubbling broth in which you dip strips of meat.
day 07
Cultural Exchange at Local School
Today, the group will spend the morning at a local migrant worker school interacting with the students. Migrant schools exist for the children of worker families who have immigrated to the big cities. Visiting schools should prepare a performance (song/dance/poem), games and basic English lessons in advance. There will be a visit to Wide and Narrow Alley in the afternoon before enjoying your final night in China.

Depart
Transfer to the airport for departure flight home.
