Camp at 2,000m on Oman’s highest mountain within a mountain resort. Experience the thrill of climbing and abseiling on real rock, learn how to make fire, and go hunting for fox traps and ancient fossils on a mountain trek. Finish the trip by exploring fresh water pools in Wadi Muyadin at the foot of Jebel Akhdar; an independence building adventure with something for every student.

This adventure is most suitable for students aged 9-13, but itineraries can be amended for older students. Alternatives to camping are available for students who will get more out of the experience with more of the comforts of home.

Day to Day

Day 01

4x4 Mountain Drive & Orientation Trek

Take an exciting 4x4 ride up to the 2,000m high mountain camp. Get settled in and then go and explore the area, hunting for fossils and fox traps and learning about life in the mountains

Day 02

Survival 101

Back to basics: Compass Treasure Hunt - Develop team work and leadership skills by learning how to use a compass to find all the materials you will need for this afternoon's challenge! Fire lighting - Work together to collect wood, light your fire, and then cook your own lunch; the ultimate exercise in independence.

Day 03

Clinb & Raft Build

Climb & abseil - Combine physical exertion and mental resilience to overcome your fears and get you to the top of our specially developed climbing area. Raft build - Lateral thinking skills and effective teamwork will be the key to success in building your rafts from basic materials.

Day 04

Nizwa & Departure

Pack up camp and return to Muscat. Think about our environmental impact as you work together to pack up camp, load the kit and leave the campsite at least as clean as when we arrived. Stop off at Nizwa on the way back to Muscat to explore the souq and the fort.
